Lobo Field (Baseball)
Located directly south of the Pit, Lobo Field was UNM's home field for over 35 years and is now the team's primary practice facility. However, that will be changing with the announcement of a major renovation to Lobo Baseball Field. The planned renovations to Lobo Field are extensive. The first phase of the project built permanent bleachers for 1,000, new bullpens, field-turf playing surface, dugouts, and updated outfield walls.
Future phases at Lobo Field may include: stadium lighting that meets NCAA Championship and ESPN HDTV specifications a new press box facility, players’/coaches’ clubhouse with locker room, a state-of-the-art baseball scoreboard, and plaza/concession areas that would enhance the overall Lobo student-athlete and fan experience.
By renovating Lobo Field, the University may be able to host:
- NCAA Regional Games;
- NCAA Super-Regional Games;
- Mountain West Conference Championships;
- New Mexico High School State Championship Tournament;
- Other Regional Baseball Tournaments; and
- Other Baseball Tournaments.
